 Our
original location
 We
bought our daughter's old daycare...
 and
built this iconic new store in 1999.
 Now
we have pleanty of room for our hungry customers!
| We
opened Portland House of Pizza in 1988 and like all new business the days were
long and growth was slow. Fortunately, with the help from a couple of our family
members and a few great employees the business started to grow when customers
in the area spread the word about how great our food was. Our menu was pretty
limited at the start, but as our customers asked for new items we listened and
added new recipes. After 20 years we are still adding items to the menu to be
able to offer our customers nutritious, quality choices. An example of this is
now we only use trans fat free oil in our pizza dough and fried foods. After
a few years we needed to expand our restaurant and parking facilities so we moved
a few doors down to a larger location which we renovated. Our current dining room
can seat about 70 hungry customers, and our state of the art kitchen can expedite
their meals very quickly. (Our pizza ovens alone can cook up to 500 pizza's an
hour!) But we still make them one at a time. Our Mission The
goal of PHOP is to create a satisfying experience for the customers from the minute
they enter our restaurant or connects with us by phone or online, to the last
bite. We pride ourselves on being courteous, helpful and efficient. We go
that extra step to make our customers know we value their patronage. We realize
that people decide now more than ever where their money has a greater value when
eating out. Being at the top of our game is a must at Portland House of Pizza.
Our Pizza Pizza is our featured menu item. At Portland
House of Pizza we study the "science of the perfect pizza". A Pizza must have
a solid foundation, so let's talk about the crust. We make our own dough daily,
on the premises, in small batches to insure freshness. And we have to plan because
we let our dough rise to give our crust depth without heaviness. We use only the
freshest flours, sugars, salts, and oils. We even make a whole wheat crust. Our
dough mixer is only a few feet from where it will be baked to perfection. What
would a great pizza be with out the right cheese? We think we have chosen the
perfect blend: mozzarella for texture, cheddar for flavor. We even have a low
fat blend for those watching their fat intake. Our pizza sauce is our own special
recipe. No off-the-shelf sauce at Portland House of Pizza. We've perfected our
blend of tomatoes, herbs, spices, and oils. After the last 12 years we have discovered
lots of incredibly flavorful, fresh, and healthy toppings for your pizza. Our
meat toppings are full of flavor and low in fat. |
